“We are a great team.”
“Flat hierarchies.”
“Exciting tasks.”
“A modern working environment.”
You could swap the careers pages of many companies and no one would notice.
The problem is not that these statements are false.
The problem is that they tell nothing.
People do not apply to companies because they have read a list of benefits.
They apply because they can imagine being there.
What does a typical day really look like?
Who works here?
What happens when something goes wrong?
What makes this job special?
What gets on people’s nerves sometimes?
And what are people here damn proud of?
This is exactly where film can do more than any job advert.
Not by making the company look prettier.
But by making it visible.
Perhaps good recruiting storytelling therefore needs fewer stock photos of people pointing at laptops.
And more real stories.
See what it is really like here.
And then decide for yourself whether you want in.
